Pembrokeshire based singer-songwriter Jodie Mariewas signed to Decca Records / Universal Music in 2010 and began writing songs with former Suede guitarist and producer Bernard Butler and singer songwriter Ed Harcourt.

Her debut album Mountain Echo (released in 2012 on the Verve imprint) was described by The Guardian as 'velvety and bittersweet’ and received much critical acclaim. She since self-released her second album Trouble in Mind in 2015 with Transgressive Records, her sound was described by The Independent as 'having a light-blues and jazz-folk-edge recalling late-1960s singer-songwriters such as Carole King’.

Collaborating again with songwriter Ed Harcourt & Dan Smith (of the Noisettes) and produced by collaborator Owain Fleetwood Jenkins - Jodie Marie’s latest album The Answer (released in 2021 with Carmel Records - Caru Music Ltd) features singles, ‘Carageen’, and ‘Ain’t No Doubt About

It’, receiving A-List support from BBC Wales. It’s been described as ‘a contemporary masterpiece’ (Welsh Connections).

Her latest release, Polar Night (an EP released in 2023 - Carmel Records - Caru Music Ltd), was inspired by her time above the Arctic Circle in January 2023, isolated in a cabin on a remote island for just over three weeks, surrounded by extreme weather and stories of the indigenous Sámi people. ‘This beautiful collection of atmospheric songs exemplifies just how far she has come since her debut in 2012’. Following on from her Polar Night EP, she has since released a mini documentary, ’24 Days of Polar Night’, which followed her trip above the Arctic Circle while writing the above EP.

Jodie has supported Will Young, Ben Howard, Jonathan Jeremiah, Nerina Pallot, Jamie Lawson, Callum Scott, Jim Adkins (Jimmy Eat World), Ed Harcourt, John Blek and I See Rivers on various tours.

Jodie has performed live on BBC Breakfast, and has received support from many stations such as BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 4 (Loose Ends show) and BBC Radio 2 Live in Concert as a guest performer singing a duet with the band, Train, to name a few. Her music has featured on TV such as Emmerdale, Coronation Street, Girlfriends Guide To Divorce (USA series - season 3 episode 4), Noson Lawen S4C and Channel 4 featured her on 4Play.

Jodie Marie is now writing her next two albums while touring and running a recording studio (StudiOwz) that she owns with her partner, Owain Fleetwood Jenkins, which is based in Pembrokeshire.
