Melin Melyn
Melin Melyn are more than a band: they are world-builders, creating vivid fables shaped by the strangeness of modern life. Their debut album Mill On The Hill blends surf-rock, country, prog and psychedelia into a richly imagined concept, inviting listeners into “Melin Village,” a utopian world powered by music. Translating to “Yellow Mill” in Welsh, Melin Melyn place storytelling at the heart of their sound, exploring grief, love and hope with wit and warmth.
Formed in 2019, the Welsh six-piece expanded from a quartet into a fully realised ensemble, drawing on the deep experience of its members across the Welsh music scene. Early EPs Blomonj and Happy Gathering earned acclaim from NME, The Independent and BBC 6Music, leading to sold-out UK shows and festival appearances across Europe.
Part concept album, part musical theatre, Mill On The Hill cements Melin Melyn as a band joyfully unbound by genre.
Melin Melyn headline St Mary’s Church on Friday 27 March. Full schedule coming soon.
