WELSH INDIE GUITAR HEROES
— Chris Hawkins, BBC 6 Music

Bursting out of the beauty that is Wales, Shale get your hips grooving and your lips moving, oh so rhythmically. A lift of spirit not seen since the dark ages. All still in their teens this is just the start.

Shale’s self tilted debut EP was released in April 2025. The EP started as a school project but took off when tracks like ‘Work Dog’, ‘Fuzzy Identities’ and ‘It’s Not Right’ were championed on BBC 6Music by Huw Stephens, Emily Pilbeam and Chris Hawkins. The tracks also had long stints on the BBC Radio Wales A-List.

‘Made With Love.’ is the boys most recent track recorded in Liverpool by Chris Taylor. It continued their heavy radio success around the globe.

All members of Shale are just 19 years old and have been gigging for a little over a year—but it’s already been a busy one. From hometown support slots to sharing stages with Ben Ellis, Pastel, The Enemy, RATS, and Seb Lowe, the band has quickly built serious momentum. They’ve also packed out headline shows across Cardiff, Bristol, London, and Devon.

Shale perform at The Dogs Home, Ruabon House on Friday 27 March.Full schedule coming soon.
