Zero Mile

Amruta is an acclaimed Indian classical vocalist and founder of Ayan Cymru, which she has led in Wales for over 15 years. A former tutor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, she blends the depth of Indian classical tradition with cross-cultural collaboration. From well-being music programs to performances at prestigious venues including the House of Commons, her work celebrates community and connection. She also leads Zero Mile, one of Wales’ most diverse bands.

Richard, from Chepstow, Wales, brings a rich Western musical heritage shaped by choirs, jazz and blues ensembles, and years on the UK festival circuit. A master of slide guitar, his soulful playing bridges blues traditions with global influences.

Together, they create music that celebrates migration, friendship, and belonging—blending harmonium, tanpura, and evocative guitar into a sound that is both ancient and contemporary.
